⚡ Short version: JiraGenie stores your Jira credentials locally on your device only. We never store, sell or share your personal data or Jira data on our servers.
📋 What data we collect
JiraGenie collects the minimum data necessary to function:
- Atlassian domain — to connect to your Jira instance
- Email address — used as your Jira login identifier
- API token — stored encrypted on your device to authenticate with Jira
- App preferences — dark mode, notification settings (stored locally)
We do not collect: passwords, browsing history, location data, contacts, or any other personal information.
🏠 Where your data is stored
All credentials and preferences are stored locally on your device only using secure device storage. We do not have a server that receives or stores your Jira credentials.
- API tokens are stored using AsyncStorage with device-level encryption
- Your Jira issues and project data are fetched directly from Atlassian servers — not our servers
- No data is sent to JiraGenie servers
🤖 AI features (Claude by Anthropic)
When you use the AI Chat feature, your message and a summary of your Jira issue data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response.
- Only issue summaries, statuses and priorities are shared — no full descriptions or comments unless you ask
- Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data sent to Claude: anthropic.com/privacy
- You can disable AI features at any time in Settings
🔗 Third-party services
JiraGenie connects to the following third-party services:
- Atlassian Jira API — to fetch and manage your issues, projects and sprints
- Anthropic Claude API — to power AI chat features
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these services. Please review their privacy policies separately.
🔔 Notifications
If you enable push notifications, we request device notification permissions only. We do not use third-party push notification services that track you.
👶 Children's privacy
JiraGenie is designed for professional use and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
🔄 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of JiraGenie after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
